Chrisgeek

016_10.JPGEver since my dad brought home a Texas-Instruments 99 computer when I was 8 or 9, I've been pretty hooked on computers as hobby and as a profession. I've since learned to program in BASIC, C, Pascal, Perl, PHP, and a few others. I've worked on everything from a 386SX to an SGI Indy workstation. I've had the incredible fortune to grow up during a time when computer technology has progressed in giant leaps in bounds very quickly; I can remember a time that I didn't use a computer every day. Of course, I have a reasonable amount of skepticism about whether technology is doing more good than harm; the jury is clearly still out on that one.

Now, here I am with a degree in Computer Science, my own business, and lots of neat technology stuff going on. If you're interested in hiring me for consulting or programming work, do get in touch.

I do not intend to stay in the web-design / consulting business all my life. While I do spend a lot of time adding to my skill set, I don't see a future in things like system administration or other process-specific knowledge. I do see a future in the Internet as a vehicle for social change, and so I i focus my energies on finding ways to bring the promise of a better world to the masses: as Summersault's mission statement says, "to build and sustain communities using the technologies of the Internet."

I've done some writing on various technology-related topics:

But that's mostly outdated; check out my weblog or the Summersault weblog for more.

If you ever want to geek out together, just get in touch.
