In 2011 I ran for election to the nine-seat City Council of Richmond, Indiana. While I advanced after a competitive primary election, I lost by 201 votes in the general election. You can review an archive of the blog posts I wrote about the campaign at the time. My work on the campaign included developing messaging and strategy, engaging with local residents about the issues important to them in neighborhood canvasing and community forums, designing and printing campaign materials, coordinating campaign volunteer efforts, participating in interviews with the media, fundraising and other responsibilities as needed.
